Hit the road snowmobiling

Just a 35 minute flight from Reykjavík gets you to the Westfjords of Iceland. Your guide will be waiting for you on a snowmobile to take you on a tour along jaw-dropping coastal fjords and over immense mountains. Don´t worry, the guide will have all the snowmobile gear you need as well as a delicious lunch and hot chocolate to keep you warm.

The most dramatic waterfall in the Westfjords

You’ll ride with the guide to the most dramatic waterfall in the Westfjords, Dynjandi. Flowing like a cape down the back of the mountain, it is 30 meters wide at the top, falls down 100 meters and is 60 meters at the bottom. In winter,  the road to the waterfall is often closed due to massive snow so it is very likely that you’ll be able to enjoy the beauty of this waterfall in solitude.

A relaxing evening

After the snowmobile tour a 4×4 truck will take you to bathe and relax in a geothermal spring. Unwind in the traditional Icelandic way in this local natural wonder. To make the most of the day we will end it with a delicious 2 course dinner at a lovely restaurant. If there is a chance of seeing the Northern Lights we will hunt them down before checking in to a hotel in Patreksfjörður village.

More than just a walk on the beach

The next day we will take a stroll on  breathtaking  Rauðasandur beach which is only a 30 minute drive from Patreksfjörður. The gravel  road to Rauðasandur is winding and steep allowing you to enjoy a bird´s-eye view of this unique red colored beach set amidst black cliffs and blue Atlantic ocean. It´s a wonderful place to fill your soul and camera with memories. On the way back to the airport we will drive through and make stops in tiny and charming fishing villages, embracing traditional ways of life.
