After a half an hour drive from Patreksfjörður to Bíldudalur we start the biking tour. From Bíldudalur we bike through the magnificent valleys, along white sand beaches and under the giant cliffs of Ketildalir to the beautiful valley Selárdalur. In Selárdalur we will visit the extraordinary museum of outdoor works, the Art Museum of Samúel Jónsson. Samúel was a poor farmer in Selárdalur, a self-educated artist who could finally devote himself to his passion for art when becoming a pensioner. There is a great variety of big sculptures, paintings and colourful houses in this remote and isolated place. When back in Bíldudalur we will visit the Icelandic Sea Monster Museum. Tales of sea monsters have played a colourful role in Icelandic folk culture for centuries. Today, these elusive creatures have been given a worthy home at the museum. A short drive back to Patreksfjörður.
